TELETHERAPY + COACHING + INTENSIVES
About John
John is an international psychotherapist and executive coach. With over 45 years of experience he now works primarily with men seeking therapy or coaching. John first began coaching music artists and managers 30 years ago in Nashville. Today he also coaches entrepreneurs and executives in the healthcare and wealth management industries. He offers Online Therapy/Coaching to his clients in North America and Europe. Two Day Intensives (In Person) are also available at his Los Angeles and Cancun locations.
John is a directive guide as well as a compassionate listener. People come to him when nothing else seems to have worked. They are desperate to get unstuck and begin moving in a healthy direction. His therapeutic style is eclectic, grounded in psychodynamic, family systems and mindfulness psychology. He believes an effective therapist/coach acts as an anthropologist, meeting the client with an approach that is unique to their struggles and is easily understood.
John is a Canadian American therapist who has practiced in Southern California, Middle Tennessee and Alberta. He has supervised over fifty counselors towards licensure in the last three decades. Becoming a mentor to so many young counselors has been his way to give back to the field of therapy. His own living guides include Richard Rohr, Irvin Yalom and Esther Perel. He can often be heard quoting Socrates to his clients (and anyone else who will listen), “The unexamined life is not worth living.” Therapy at it’s best examines the past, reflects on the future and then takes action. All three elements are essential for recovery and change.
Diane Belding Marshall is his life partner. She is also a Marriage and Family Therapist.
